Over the past decade, thousands of American steelworkers lost their jobs and dozens of steel facilities closed because of a surge in unfairly traded steel imports. In 2018, "Section 232" trade action was put into place, allowing America's steel industry to finally stabilize, leading to 3,200 new steel jobs and tens of billions of dollars in new investments.
Now some importers and foreign interests want the Biden administration to remove this critical trade action, which would devastate America's steel industry all over again. Not only would this likely eliminate all those brand new U.S. jobs and investments, but it would also threaten America's economic and national security at a critical time.
Thanks for taking action, but...
